İdil Biret
Pianist Utku Asan, who was born in 1999, has given concerts in important festivals such as Gumusluk International Classical Music Festival, Ayvalik International Music Academy, İs Sanat Shining Stars Series, Antalya International Piano Festival, Akbank Sanat Piano Days, HfMDK Jazzfest. He performed in prestigious concert halls of leading cities such as Antalya, Bodrum, Oxford, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Bologna, Ankara and Istanbul.
Education
He completed his high school degree at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory, with Dr. Nurferi Onur and Prof. Ece Demirci. After completing his studies in Istanbul, Asan succeeded in the auditions of Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt and was entitled to continue his undergraduate education in Germany. Here, he has worked with important names such as Prof. Alexej Gorlatch, Vassilia Efstathiadou and is currently pursuing his education with Russian pianist Dmitry Ablogin. Also focusing on chamber music during his education, Asan performs his work in this field with Prof. Hansjacob Staemmler and Prof. Angelika Merkle. Asan was also awarded with two DAAD scholarships during his undergraduate education in HfMDK.
CD Album
Asan, who was entitled to take part as a soloist in the CD project of his university, performed Igor Stravinsky’s Piano Concerto with HfMDK Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Greek conductor Vassilis Christopoulos. The CD album that is called “Unerhört”, was released as of January 2022. This album was the first recorded CD Album that the young artist took part as a soloist.
Awards
The young pianist got 2nd prize at Bursa Nilüfer International Piano Competition (Bursa, Turkiye), Baden-Württemberg “Musical Fireworks” International Piano Competition (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) and honorable mention from İs Sanat Shining Stars Series. Asan also became a finalist in the Minerbio International Piano Competition held in Bologna, Italy.
Master Classes
Utku Asan also actively participated in masterclasses of leading pianists such as İdil Biret, Gülsin Onay, Hüseyin Sermet, Lilya Zilberstein, Denis Kozukhin, Herbert Schuch, Muza Rubackyte, Johan Schmidt, Hermann Kretzschmar.
